A Basic Analysis on Perception of Speed and Time in Watching 360-degree Video with HMD

(in English) An immersive head-mounted display (HMD) is expected to produce a different sensation from that of viewing on a normal monitor screen. In this study, we conducted an experiment using a system that allows subjects to change the playback speed of a video played at a random playback speed, and verified what kind of difference in speed perception occurs. As a result of the experiment, differences in speed adjustment were observed between viewing on a PC monitor, an HMD, an HMD using the stick button on the controller when looking around, and an HMD with a restricted viewing angle, suggesting that the differences were due to differences in the sense of immersion caused by each viewing method.
