On-air relay has the advantages of low deployment cost and efficient use of frequency to expand DTTB(Digital Terrestrial Television Broadcasting) throughout Japan. However, there are severe problems of CCI (Co-Channel Interference) caused by interference from other transmitting stations. We have been developing a co-channel interference canceller utilizing an adaptive array antenna to remove such interferences. In this paper, we show the results of a long term field trial for an on-air relay using a trial co-channel interference canceller where the difference in angle of arrival between the desired wave and a CCI wave is 3 degrees. |
