Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) The authors have been studying space-time trellis coded multiple-input multiple-output (STTC-MIMO) transmission technology for future 800MHz-band FPU (field pick-up unit) system, aiming for high data rate and high link reliability transmissions of TV program materials such as road races. 16-QAM STTC encoder and decoder, which satisfy required bit rate of 36Mbps when AVC/H.264 is used, were proposed and 2x2 STTC-MIMO transmission equipment was developed. Using the equipment, hardware evaluation and demonstration experiment on an actual road racing course were carried out. The results are reported here.
