Precise difference detection in similar documents based on image matching

(in English) Some of documents, which have a fixed format and are updated periodically, are often modified very partially, resulting in very similar documents before and after the modification. The authors have proposed an automatic comparison and detection technique for such a modification in a pair of printed documents. However, the technique fails to detect modifications due mainly to a difference of region segmentation of corresponding characters between two document images. This paper thus proposes a new technique to overcome the problem, and improves the detection accuracy. The experimental result given in this paper illustrates that the proposed technique achieves a precision ratio of 97% under a recall rate of 100%, and that the errors due to the region segmentation can be completely removed.
