A Subjective Evaluation Method for Total Image Quality of LCD Televisions

(in English) We proposed a method for evaluating the total image quality of LCD televisions by non-professional observers. Twenty HDTV video-clips suitable for evaluating the image quality of LCDs were gathered. These video clips were displayed on the 8 different LCD-TVs simultaneously. Non-professional observers evaluated these LCD-TVs by using Sheffe's paired comparison method. The proposed method is practical and reliable enough to apply to evaluate the total image quality of LCD televisions. The relationships between the evaluation results and psychophysical measurements were discussed.
