Periodic Stereo Image using wide pitch lenticular lens

In the case of Periodic Stereo Image (PSI) using narrow pitch lenticular lens, its horizontal resolution cannot exceed the lens pitch. On the other hand, the narrower lens pitch causes deterioration of image quality by influence of drawing resolution. Then higher definition has been difficult because of this dilemma. In this study, some methods to generate the PSI which image resolution was not restricted to the lens pitch were examined by using wide pitch lenticular lens. In this method, wider pitch of periodic image makes room of drawing resolution, then high-definition PSI could be create easily, but the images of different depth cannot be drawn in same plane. In this type of PSI, the distortion caused by aberration is major cause compromising image quality, and makes the viewing zone narrower . |
