Region segmentation and matching order estimation in difference detection for similar documents

Printed documents with a fixed format are often modified very partially, resulting in very similar documents after modification. The authors have proposed an automatic comparison and change detection technique by using an image matching technique and an extraction of the longest common sequence. However, an application of the technique was strictly limited to documents with single column and without tables and figures. This paper thus extends the technique in order that it can be applied to multi-column documents with tables. The experimental results in this paper illustrate that the proposed technique works properly as expected. |
