A Study of Equalization Scheme in Outside the Guard Interval for Digital Terrestrial Television Broadcasting

The guard interval is extended with the OFDM symbol to ensure against the multipath. Thus, interference from the delay signal can be removed when the delay time is shorter than the guard interval duration. However, when the delay time is longer than the guard interval duration, ISI and ICI are happened and it is difficult to remove them. In this paper, the influence of the long delay signal reduction scheme by using the transfer function matrix extended to all bandwidth of the OFDM symbol is proposed. Moreover, another reduction scheme by using re-modulated replica signal is proposed in order to reduce the amount of calculation. The performances are evaluated to show the effectiveness of the both proposed schemes in ISDB-T system. |
