An ultra high speed image sensor with using a new architecture based on a new imaging concept has been introduced and discussed for achieving the high speed imaging over 100Mfps. The sensor consists of a back side illumination technology, a CCD frame memory and a readout technology of CMOS imager. As a result, it has been concluded that the new image sensor has the ability to achieve the utmost speed shooting. The key point is on a technology for quickly concentrating signal electrons into multi-phase collection electrodes arranged in the middle of the pixel. |
