An Analog CMOS Image Sensor based on Self-Similitude Architecture for Varying Filter Operations

(in English) A pixel-parallel self-similitude computation architecture has been developed for multiple-resolution image filtering processing. In this paper, we have developed a new self-similitude architecture with photo diode multiplier and memory. As a result, it has become possible to accomplish any (1/2^n) resolution varying image filtering operation at one time and the concept has been verified by nanosim simulation. An analog image filtering chip implemented using a switched floating-gate MOS (neuMOS) technology that is capable of performing varying image filtering at full, half, and quarter resolutions was designed and fabricated with 29% fill factor in a 0.18μm 5-metal CMOS technology.
