A high-sensitivity electron multiplying charge coupled device (EM-CCD) HD camera was developed for shooting night views of the earth and various natural phenomena at the cosmic shore from the International Space Station (ISS). The camera was investigated, compared with other types of high-sensitivity cameras, and applied to space environmental testing. An auto gain and frame-rate control system was also developed for the camera for astronauts to operate it easily. In addition, an overview of live broadcasting from the ISS by using this camera was also reviewed. |
