NHK is conducting research on Next-generation of Digital Terrestrial Broadcasting using UHF band to enable large-volume content services such as Super Hi-Vision. As a technology of SFN for Next-generation of Digital Broadcasting, we proposed a STC-SDM scheme (4x2 MIMO) that combines STC and dual-polarized MIMO-OFDM, and we studied on pilot signal scheme for the channel estimation of 4x2 MIMO transmission. We evaluated the characteristic of the transmission system which applied the pilot signal scheme by computer simulations and report on the results. |
