NHK is conducting research on next-generation of digital terrestrial broadcasting using UHF band to enable large-volume content services such as Super Hi-Vision. As a technology of SFN for next-generation of digital broadcasting, we proposed STC-SDM scheme (4x2 MIMO) in combination of STC and dual-polarized MIMO-OFDM, and we studied on the coding schemes. We confirmed the advantage of STC-SDM transmission scheme for SFN compared with the conventional SFN scheme and carried out to verify the difference in the transmission characteristics within some SFN frameworks by computer simulations. We report the results. |
