A Scene Segmentation Method Based on Video Structures in Music Programs -- Verifying the Effect of Face Recognition on Scene Segmentation Accuracy --

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) We have proposed a scene segmentaiton method which focuses on the structures that performers such as hosts and singers repeatedly appear on stages. Based on those structures, hierarchical shot clustering is performed, and the scenes cut detection is realized by searching cut edges of a directed-graph which is constructed from clustering results. In the proposed method, face similarities of performers computed by using Kernel Mutual Subspace Method (KMSM), whose training data are collected in advanced, are adopted for the visual features. Therefore, in this paper, we verify the effect of face recognition on scene segmentation accuracy in terms of the method using video structures of music programs.
