During live outside broadcasting (OB) of road races, such as marathons and ekiden, video images are taken using cameras on moving OB vans and the signals of the video images are transmitted by FPU in 700 MHz band. The frequency band for the FPU is planned to migrate to 1.2 and 2.3GHz bands by the action plan for radio spectrum reallocation developed by the ministry of internal affairs and communications. After the frequency migration of FPU, it is assumed that wireless cameras will be used in 1.2 and 2.3GHz bands. In this report, we examined the radiation characteristics of the transmission antenna of a wireless camera and the specific absorption rate (SAR) in the human head exposed to electromagnetic waves from the transmission antenna. From our examinations, the antenna gain can be improved by taking the antenna height of more than 150 mm. Moreover, the SAR can be reduced by taking the antenna height. |
