We have reconstructed 3D shape of a droplet based on multiphase flow tomographic images. Flowing a different kind of fluid into continuous phase flow makes it multiphase flow and a droplet is generated from the flowed fluid, which is dispersed phase flow. It is possible to obtain multiple cross section images of the droplet by taking pictures according to the height of the focus, where two kinds of colored particles are mixed. However, it is difficult to reconstruct 3D shape of a droplet from the images. Therefore, we have tried to reconstruct 3D shape of a droplet by extracting the droplet regions with the help of image processing method, and by forming the volume data of it with the droplet regions on the multiple tomographic images. |
