We succeeded in the single crystal growth of BaSrSiO4:Eu2+ phosphor by a novel synthesis method which was gas (SiO) and solid (Ba/Sr/Eu compound) phase hybridized. The BaSrSiO4:Eu2+ phosphor single crystal was synthesized by interfacial crystal growth after the reaction of the SiO gas with the surface of Ba/Sr/Eu compound powder in the reductive atmosphere. The single crystals were plate-like crystals with about 250 μm sizes, and the Eu2+ is substituted into the Sr2+ site as the result of X-ray single-crystal diffraction analysis. The single crystal phosphor exhibited broad emission band centered at 520nm under excitation at 370nm. |
