Shape from Shading by using Single Face Image

(in English) Shape from shading by single image has been studied, however, most of them requires apriori information of light source direction. In this study, we propose a method for estimating the three-dimensional shape from a single image without light source direction information. In this paper, we focus on shape from shading from facial image of a person. In proposed method, we detect positions of feature points of facial parts in an input image at first. In the process, we employ face recognition algorithms. Then, we estimate rough shape of face by fitting the three-dimensional standard face model to each feature points positions. Then, estimating light source direction and applying shape from shading iteratively to the rough shape and we obtain the high accuracy shape finally.
