The Expansion of the Capturing Area for Integral Imaging using Two Imaging Units

(in English) Integral photography is a technique that enables 3D images to be observed freely from any position. A capture system with this technique consists of a lens array, a depth control lens and a Fresnel lens to obtain the light field of objects. The obtained light field was limited by the size of a image sensor. To expand the obtained light field area, we have developed a proto type integral camera with two images sensors. Two image sensors were set to each position by using a prism. The output images were combined to an image by signal processing with signal level compensation and gap interpolation. As a result, the light field was expanded with smooth viewing area.
