Simulation Analysis of Readout Signal Characteristics of High Density Super-resolution Optical Disc

(in English) Super-resolution optical disc utilized phase change phenomena of film materials has been proposed, in order to realize a high density optical disc system beyond Blu-ray DiscTM, which enable us to reproduce a readout signal from small information-pit-trains by high resolution beyond diffraction limit. In this report, the simulation analysis based on a scalar diffraction theory of the readout signal from the super-resolution optical disc utilized InSb film as the phase change material is described. An influence to the readout signal characteristics regarding the variation of the information pit depth of the super-resolution optical disc was investigated by our simulation analysis, in which the readout signal quality was evaluated based on bit error rate (bER) of the 1-7 run-length-limit modulation random-data-pattern. It showed the optimum condition of the pit depth at which the bER decreases in the case of the InSb-based super-resolution optical disc.
