A Preference Estimation Method based on Relationship between Videos and Viewing Behavior -- Reduction of Performance Degradation for Few Training Pairs --

(in English) In this paper, we propose an efficient preference estimation method based on relationship between video features and users’ viewing behavior features. The proposed method calculates the cross-loadings from pairs of video features and users’ viewing behavior features by using Canonical Correlation Analysis (CCA) to select the video features that represent the users’ individual preference by monitoring the cross-loadings. However, when the number of pairs are small, accurate calculation of cross-loadings becomes difficult. To solve this problem, we apply dimensionality reduction based on Principal Component Analysis (PCA) to the video features to perform accurate calculation of cross-loadings. Here, when we calculate the cross-loadings by using the dimensionality reduced video features, the dimensionality of cross-loadings corresponds to that of the dimensionality reduced video features. Therefore, in our method, we expand the cross-loadings into original dimensionality of the video features for feature selection. Finally, by constructing regression models based on Support Vector Regression (SVR) from the selected video features, rating estimation of videos that reflects the users’ individual preference becomes feasible.
