Performance evaluation of IF signal transmission through satellite master antenna TV system for distribution of UHDTV satellite broadcasting

(in English) Aiming at launching “Super Hi-Vision (4K/8K)” broadcasting by satellite, technical standard (ARIB STD-B44 ver.2.0) was drawn up. By drawing up the standard for satellite, technology criteria of IF signal transmission through satellite master antenna TV (SMATV) system are also considered. In order to evaluate transmission characteristics for 16APSK over cable TV transmission, we conducted experiments on robustness by interferences such as carrier wave, adjacent channel interference, and reflections. Experimental results discussed in this report were contributed to the Telecommunications Council from the JCTEA (Japan Cable Television Engineering Association).
