Development of a Demosaicing Processor for 8K Super Hi-Vision

(in English) NHK have been studying technologies for 8K Super Hi-Vision camera systems. To convert 8K video with Bayer pattern into full-resolution 8K video with high quality, we proposed a novel color demosaicing method suitable for real-time processing that uses an adaptive interpolation filter based on local edge magnitude to interpolate color signals precisely and reduce artifacts. We have developed a demosaicing processor using this method for 8K camera systems.
