This system uses a low complexity channel estimation for space time block coding in a single frequency network digital terrestrial television system. The receiver employs a 2x2 MIMO system with vertical and horizontal antennas. The channel estimator uses a compressed sensing in time domain which exploits the sparsity of the channel impulse response. The algorithm for estimating the delay and channel gain is Orthogonal Matching Pursuit (OMP). The BER performance shows that OMP is very close to the ideal channel estimation. In addition, the OMP performance outperforms the linear interpolation method. |
