Development of 8K Waveform Monitor with U-SDI Signal Analyzer

(in English) NHK has been researching and developing an 8K Super Hi-Vision system toward test broadcasting in 2016 and starting service in 2018. We have confirmed the video level and the waveform of 8K video signal after down converting it to 4K resolution video signal, as there was no equipment that could input and view 8K video signal directly. Furthermore it was difficult to monitor 8K signal and to develop 8K equipment because there was no analyzer corresponding to U-SDI that is 8K interface defined in ARIB and SMPTE. In this report, we have developed an 8K waveform monitor with U-SDI signal analyzing function.
