Masashi Ito (Fuji TV.)
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In Dec 2014, IPTV Forum Japan published Hybridcast Operational Guidelines Version 2.0. This technical specification enables Hybridcast Systems to support MPEG-DASH, HTML5 MSE/EME extensions, and H.265/HEVC UHD streaming videos. In this paper, the author proposes a method for the user-selectable viewing experiences of HD Broadcast and UHD Broadband videos on the conventional broadcast TV system with above techniques. Moreover, we shows the first implementation in the production environment.
