Magnetic skyrmions, vortex-like nanometric swirling spin textures, in chiral-lattice ferromagnets are attracting intensive research interest because of their advantageous properties for technical application to information carriers in future storage devices, i.e., (1) nanometric small size, (2) topologically protected stability, (3) ultralow energy cost required to drive their motion. Magnetic skyrmions show intriguing dynamical and transport phenomena through coupling to electric currents and magnon currents via spin-transfer torques. We will discuss recent progress of theoretical studies on current-driven dynamics of magnetic skyrmions and their device functionalities |
