Carrier Superposed Transmission for Satellite Communications -- For development of LDM --

(in English) In digital terrestrial television broadcasting, LDM (Layered Division Multiplex) has been studied for layered transmission as well as for maintaining the backward compatibility. On the other hand, the carrier-superposed transmission technique has been introduced in the satellite communication systems. The carrier-superposed transmission system is capable of transmitting two signals at the same frequency band. The major part of techniques in the carrier-superposed transmission systems such as interference canceller and the channel response estimator can be used for LDM. This report introduces the principles and problems of the carrier superposed transmission for supporting the research and development of LDM-based broadcasting system
