[Invited Lecture] Development of Selectable HD Broadcast and UHD Broadband Content and Addressable TV Commercials on Hybridcast Technology

(in English) We put the Hybrid TV technology into practical use that be able to switch video between HD broadcasting and UHD broadband. Under the existing terrestrial broadcasting standard adopted in Japan, it is not able to provide 4K video service. However, using the Hybridcast2.0 as Hybrid TV technology, it is able to deliver 4K video by MPEG-DASH and decode on TV. By using Hybridcast, we succeeded in developing the technology that can deliver 4K video with the same contents as broadcasting, and can switch between HD and 4K. In this paper, we show a method to realize a hybrid delivery model of broadcast and broadband by using Hybridcast as a method to provide new video technology such as 4K by broadcast service. In Addition, this paper also describe the application of Areal Addressable TV Advertisements in the age of Hybrid TV.
