Transmission technologies for new-frequency FPUs

(in English) A government policy required FPUs (field pick-up units) operating in the 700-MHz band to change to 1.2-GHz and 2.3-GHz bands until fiscal year end of 2018. The transmission scheme for the new frequency band FPUs includes a frequency sharing technology, a long delay countermeasure technology, and a MIMO (Multiple–Input Multiple-Output) technology based on the conventional OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) scheme. In this report, transmission technologies adopted in the standard for the new frequency band FPUs, focusing on space-time trellis coded MIMO (STTC-MIMO) scheme, are mentioned.
