[Invited Lecture] Development of a Novel Dye-type Polarizer for Organic Light-emitting Diodes

(in English) For conventional OLED Blue light emission efficiency and polarizing plate transmission performance are poor , which is a cause of hindering low power consumption and long life. We developed a polarizer for an organic-light-emitting-diode (OLED) that has markedly higher transmittance of short-wavelength light than other wavelengths and has superior ability to cut reflected light from an OLED electrode. It is possible to achieve longer lifetime and lower power consumption when used newly polarizer in OLED displays. And, newly polarizer appears high dry-heat and wet-heat durability which should expand the range of application of OLEDs for automotive and outdoor uses.
