[Special Talk] Progress of 8K Super Hi-Vision and Video Coding Technology

(in English) Highly efficient video coding technology is needed to realize the Super Hi-Vision(SHV) broadcasting services since they have huge amount of data. 4K/8K SHV satellite test broadcasting was started on 1st August, 2016, furthermore, NHK continues our researching on video coding for full-featured SHV that contains high frame rate(HFR) video up to 120fps, and others. This paper introduces research activities for video coding technology aiming 120fps SHV broadcasting services and more efficient next generation video coding.
