Capturing Method for Integral 3-D Imaging Using Multi-Viewpoint Robotic Cameras

(in English) We propose a capturing method for integral 3-D imaging by using multi-viewpoint robotic cameras. When the camera operator captures a subject by using one of the robotic cameras, the region reproduced by the integral 3D display is regulated in real space according to the subject’s position and view angle of the camera and multi-viewpoint images are captured in the minimum view angle which fits in the reproduced region and with high resolution through cooperative control of the other robotic camera’s pan, tilt, and zoom. 3D models are reconstructed from complementary multi-viewpoint images captured by robotic cameras arranged in a two-dimensional array. Integral 3D images are generated by converting the 3D model into elemental images in which the camerawork is reproduced. Hi-quality live action integral 3D contents can be created by the proposed method.
