Super high resolution liquid crystal driving experiments using nanoimprint-formed polymer shield walls

(in English) We have achieved light modulation of liquid crystal (LC) device with 1 μm pixel pitch for realizing electronic holographic displays with wide field of view. In the conventional pixel structure, individual pixel driving was difficult because of the leakage of the electric field and the penetration of the elastic force of LC from the adjacent pixels. To overcome this problem, we have proposed dielectric shield wall structure on the basis of numerical simulations. In this study, we demonstrated individual pixel driving of LC in the one-dimensional pixel array having 1-μm-pitch comb electrodes and nanoimprinted dielectric walls.
