Picture Level Control Method using Gray-scale Segmentation for Large OLED Displays

(in English) The management of power consumption and display luminance is an important issue for large displays. Therefore, we propose the picture level control method using gray-scale segmentation for large OLED displays. Our method improves the image visibility by remapping contrast of HDR (High Dynamic Range) videos in controlling the power consumption of the OLED displays. In this paper, we simulated our method by using a HDR image, and confirmed that it could reproduce high contrast images without overexposure or underexposure due to suppress peak luminance of the display.
