A note on classification of brain metastases from MR images based on machine learning

(in English) This paper presents a method that classifies magnetic resonance (MR) images suffered from brain metastases. The proposed method enables classification of brain metastases based on feature extraction and machine learning methodology. Specifically, this paper considers a real situation that there are no segmentation results for MR images assigned by radiologists’ reading. Firstly, the public dataset, called brain tumor segmentation (BraTS) dataset, is used for training data reconstruction, and the classification model is constructed based on machine learning. Consequently, the accurate classification of brain metastasis with considering the real situation is expected. Experimental results obtained by applying our method to MR images show its effectiveness.
