Performance Evaluation of MMSE Dual-Polarized MIMO-ICI Canceller under Mobile Reception

(in English) Dual-polarized MIMO and ultra-multilevel OFDM is proposed for next-generation digital terrestrial broadcasting. In multipath environments under mobile reception of OFDM signal, each path is affected by Doppler-spread, and inter-carrier interference(ICI) is generated. The reception characteristics are deteriorated by ICI. The improving scheme of reception characteristics is necessary. Dual-polarized MIMO-ICI canceller using ZF equalization is proposed. However, reception characteristics cannot obtain enough performance by noise enhancement. In this paper, dual-polarized MIMO-ICI canceller based on MMSE is proposed and shows that the reception characteristics can be improved.
