[Invited Lecture] High Bending Strength Chemically Tempered Cover Glasses for Mobile Display Devices

(in English) Bending strength is one of the most important properties for the thinner cover glasses for mobile display devices in order to prevent the breakage of glass in use. Recently, the high bending strength of both Face and Edge of cover glasses was achieved by our new process where the glass surface is removed by a series of processes including chemical tempering. The characteristic of the new process is to be able to achieve both good appearance and high bending strength of both Face and Edge. Moreover, this new process is environmentally friendly process because it does not use environmental harmful substances such as HF.
