A Generation Method of Digital Animation-like Background Images from a Photographed Image

(in English) It is required a lot of time, cost, and techniques to create background images for digital animation. In this research, we propose a new method to efficiently generate background images for digital animation from a photographed image. These methods have been manually created by using Photoshop, and so on. We automate a series of procedures to retouch a digital animation background image. We compared the quality and processing time to generate digital animation-like background images created by the proposed method and by the conventional manual method. We show that the quality of generated images is almost equal to the conventional manual method, and the production time is reduced to 21-28%.
