Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) A method of estimating water vapor using digital terrestrial broadcasting waves is proposed. Our target is to improve the accuracy of numerical weather forecast for severe weather phenomena such as localized heavy rainstorms in urban areas through data assimilation. The variation of water vapor makes the propagation delay of radio waves. We can estimate the variation of water vapor by measuring propagation delay precisely. Methods, observed results, results of data assimilation, and present status of observation are reported.
