A Study on Impulsive Noise Mitigation Scheme for Higher Order Modulation
Keisuke Ogura, Akira Nakamura, Makoto Itami (Tokyo Univ. of Science)
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In the OFDM transmission, one of the problems is the influence of the impulsive noise in the channel. All sub-carriers of OFDM symbols are influenced by the impulsive noise because the impulsive noise has wide frequency components. Therefore, it is necessary to remove the impulsive noise. The mitigation schemes of impulsive noise have been proposed. Conventional schemes can improve the reception characteristics in case that low order modulations are used. However, conventional schemes cannot improve the reception characteristics in case that high order modulation is used. In this paper, the proposed scheme using selective remapping of signal points is proposed. As the result of computer simulations, the proposed scheme can improve the reception characteristics in higher order modulation.
