A 125Mfps High Speed CMOS Image Sensor with Burst CDS Operation

(in English) This paper presents a high speed global shutter CMOS image sensor with pixel-wise analog memory array achieving frame period of photo-electrons transit time by burst correlated double sampling (CDS) operation. A prototype chip mimicking 3D stacked structure with 34.56µm pitch equivalent pixels achieved 8ns frame period. 100Mfps with 80 frames and 125Mfps with 40 frames high speed imaging was demonstrated under room temperature without chip cooling system.
