[Poster Presentation] Fabrication of alignment-controlled polymer dispersed liquid crystals with bonding spacers formed by transfer method for flexible smart windows

(in English) To realize flexible Smart Window using alignment-controlled polymer-dispersed liquid crystal (PDLC), spacer structure to keep the polymer network in PDLC layer unchanged is required. In this study, we have proposed the formation method of spacer wall using transfer method on plastic substrate and joining method of upper and lower substrates by coating monomers on opposing substrate and investigated the orientation control and optical characteristics. As the result, we clarified that it is possible to join the upper and lower substrates with liquid crystal vertically aligned , and to realize flexible PDLC with bonded transfer spacer.
