Privacy Preserving Sparse Representation for Face Recognition in Edge and Cloud Networks

(in English) The interaction between edge and cloud servers plays an important role in fulfilling the extensive computation requirements of face recognition featured applications. By aggregating information from devices in service, extra degree of diversity can be exploited to further enhance the performance, while raising significant concerns on the privacy of biometrics data. In this paper, we design a secured framework to make use of the multi-device diversity. First, we develop a low-complexity encrypting algorithm based on random unitary transform, to perform face recognition over the encrypted face images. We further prove that such computation on cipher-texts will not influence the accuracy of face recognition. Second, we obtain a refined solution through combining the recognition results based on the dictionaries of each device by ensemble learning. Finally, the simulation results verify the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed framework.
