As a new distribution system of broadcasting in a detached house and an apartment house, 850nm optical transmission system using Plastic Optical Fiber (POF) is proposed. The 850 nm optical transmission system can be expected to improve the workability by POF and reduce the cost due to the inexpensive light source. However, it is necessary to design a system in consideration of a large transmission loss as compared with a 1550 nm optical transmission system using Glass fiber. In this paper, we design the 850 nm optical delivery system and confirm the validity of the design by the electrical performance evaluation experiment and the transmission performance evaluation experiment of the component equipment by the prototype. |
