Enlargement of far depth perception by increasing real display position from subject in Head Mounted Display

By setting optically the display position to far enough in Head Mounted Display, maximum perceived depth of stereoscopic image can be successfully enlarged. Inconsistency of depth perception factors between stereoscopic image and the display in Head Mounted Display results in degradation of far depth perception of stereoscopic image. For example, depth of stereoscopic image in Head Mounted Display is saturated around 5 m when display position is at 1 m. By setting the display to far position optically, stereoscopic image depth can be successfully enlarged to around 10 m. |
