[Poster Presentation] Super wide viewing angle liquid crystal displays using anisotropic light diffusion film

(in English) In order to realize a liquid crystal display without eye fatigue as well as the printed papers, we investigated a method for suppressing a viewing angle dependence of brightness and chromaticity of displayed images. By controlling the light distribution of the backlight suppressing a light reflection at the surface of the liquid crystal panel, and by laminating an anisotropic light-diffusing film that diffuses only light in a specific angle range on the LCD surface, we have clarified that a liquid crystal display having an super wide viewing angle characteristic with extremely small angle dependence of luminance and chromaticity can be realized.
