A Note on Estimation of Image Categories Using Brain Activity While Viewing Images Based on MVBGM-MS

(in English) This paper presents multi-view Bayesian generative model for multi-subject fMRI data (MVBGM-MS) for accurate estimation of image categories using brain activity while viewing images. MVBGM-MS extracts latent representations shared by multi-subject brain activity to decrease the influence depending on brain activity of each subject. Furthermore, we associate the derived latent representations with visual features and semantic features extracted from viewed images for estimation of image categories using brain activity. In the experiment, we verify the effectiveness of MVBGM-MS and the relationship between estimation performance and the number of subjects for utilizing brain activity.
