Motion Blur Reduction for Imaging by Single Photon Counting Sensor

(in English) In single photon counting imaging, a multi-valued image is obtained by statistical reconstruction processing from the time series of bit-plane images that represent the presence or absence of incident photons for each light receiving element. Because our previous research that suppresses motion blur in multi-valued images assumes a moving object of constant velocity, the accuracy is reduced with respect to the speed change of the moving object. The proposed method improves the accuracy of motion blur suppression by estimating motion at shorter time intervals.Specifically, an intermediate image for estimating the shape and position of a moving object is generated from a small number of bit-plane images. Then, template matching is performed between the intermediate images. Simulation experiments show the effectiveness of this method.
