A Study on Transmission Parameters of Mobile Reception for an Advanced ISDB-T

(in English) We are conducting research on an advanced Integrated Services Digital Broadcasting - Terrestrial (advanced ISDB-T) to realize 4K/8K services for terrestrial broadcasting. The advanced ISDB-T inherits segmented structure of ISDB-T that enables hierarchical transmission. Therefore, the advanced ISDB-T can provide services for mobile reception and fixed reception in one channel simultaneously. In addition, a new signal frame structure and large-size FFT were applied to increase transmission capacity. Transmission efficiency can be improved by using a large-size FFT, on the other hand mobile reception performance degrades due to the influence of inter-carrier interference. In this paper, the FFT size that can efficiently multiplex the mobile reception layer and the fixed reception layer was evaluated by computer simulation. As the result, assuming that a small CN ratio is required for the mobile reception layer, a large FFT size that is advantageous for the transmission efficiency of fixed reception layer is suitable.
